To promote communication between polarization spectroscopists of all kinds--from basic researchers to those applying polarization spectroscopy in biology, medicine, materials science, and other fields-- Roskilde University's Department of Life Sciences and Chemistry and the Roskilde University Library have decided to test the usefulness of an electronic newsletter, _Polarization Spectroscopy of Ordered Systems (PSOS): A Newsletter for Spectroscopists Using Polarized Light_. It is intended as a forum for fast, informal discussion between researchers in a small, specialized field. http://frederik.ruc.dk/dis/chem/psos/psos.htm _Journal of Political Ecology: Case Studies in History and Society_ (_JPE_) is a peer-reviewed journal begun in 1994 that welcomes submissions in English, French, and Spanish from a broad range of disciplines. It hopes to encourage research into the linkages between political economy and human environmental impacts. It is provided free and supported by the Political Ecology SOciety (PESO). _JPE_ publishes articles without rigid length criteria and book reviews. Articles and reviews are published incrementally (rather than in issues) and paginated in annual volumes. _JPE_ is produced at the Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology and is available through, as well as archived at, the University of Arizona Library, Tucson. http://www.library.arizona.edu/ej/jpe/jpeweb.html _J.UCS_ (_Journal of Universal Computer Science_) is a refereed journal covering all areas of computer science. _J.UCS_ is published in twelve yearly issues over the Internet and also on CD-ROM and paper by Springer-Verlag at the end of every year. The network version will be free of charge in 1995 and 1996. Articles are categorized according to the ACM Computing Reviews Classification Scheme (with permission from ACM) and are available both in text (HTML) and PostScript formats (and fully searchable). http://hyperg.iicm.tu-graz.ac.at/0x811b9908_0x0008eaac The _RAND Journal of Economics_, formerly the _Bell Journal of Economics_, supports and encourages research in the behavior of regulated industries, the economic analysis of organizations, and, more generally, applied microeconomics. Both theoretical and empirical articles in economics and law are published. Abstracts and tables of contents for the entirety of all titles of this serial, from 1970 to the present, are available from this site. The abstracts are included in a searchable database. All issues are available from the NCSU Libraries--D. H. Among the resources offered through this site are a bibliography of Melville biographies; links to complete electronic texts of Melville's works (at present only the more popular novels and several short pieces are available); publishing history, excerpts, and contemporary reviews; and a bibliography of Melville criticism, both general and work-specific. http://www.melville.org/ Resources for Studying Beowulf provides a bibliography of critical readings on Beowulf, links to two modern translations of the epic, an Old English rendition, and a searchable version of a modern translation of the text. http://www.georgetown.edu:80/irvinemj/english016/beowulf/ beowulf.html
