Casorso, 'FOL Special Lecture: Gus Lee', NCSU Libraries Newsletter v22n05 (December 1994) _The NCSU Libraries Newsletter_ Volume 22 no. 5 December 1994 Casorso, Tracy M.02 "FOL Special Lecture: Gus Lee" The Friends of the Library and the Raleigh bookstore Quail Ridge Books will co-host a special lecture featuring Chinese- American author, West Point graduate, and attorney Gus Lee on February 8, 1995, at 2:00 P.M. in the D. H. Hill Library. Lee, on the last leg of a major tour for his new book, _Honor and Duty_, will lecture, read from his works, and answer questions from the audience. A _Los Angeles Times Book Review_ praised Lee's first book, _China Boy_ (1991) for its "engaging exploration of family dynamics and insight into a diversity of initiation rites." Continuing the theme of that partly autobiographical novel about growing up in California in the 1950s, Lee's _Honor and Duty_ offers a poignant coming-of- age story of a young man struggling to honor his Chinese inheritance in an American context. An autograph session and reception will follow the program. For more information, call the Friends office at ext. 5-2841.
