Braxton, 'NCSU Libraries' Subject Teams and Departmental Liaisons', NCSU Libraries Newsletter v22n04 (November 1994) _The NCSU Libraries Newsletter_ Volume 22 no. 4 November 1994 Braxton, Claire "NCSU Libraries' Subject Teams and Departmental Liaisons" The NCSU Libraries recognizes that there is a direct relationship between an active and interested departmental library representative and the effective growth of the Libraries' collection in that department's subject fields. In addition to being the departmental liaison with the library for journal subscription reviews and monographic purchase recommendations, departmental representatives are responsible for providing valuable insights into the Libraries' collection development needs. In 1994-95 the library will investigate the allocation of the materials budget to broad subject levels and will establish three subject-based teams to bring together librarian subject specialists. The teams will serve to strengthen and broaden the Libraries' Collection Management program. These actions will implement the top recommendations of the NCSU Libraries' Collection Analysis Project. Departmental library representatives will work with the newly formed subject teams to coordinate the development of subject collections. The three teams are the LIFE SCIENCES AND AGRICULTURE SUBJECT TEAM, the ENGINEERING AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES SUBJECT TEAM, and the HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES SUBJECT TEAM. Listed below are the departmental library representatives and the newly formed subject teams who will work with them during the coming year.
