Brown, 'Acquisitions Intern Hired', NCSU Libraries Newsletter v21n07 (February 1994) _The NCSU Libraries Newsletter_ Volume 21 no. 7 February 1994 Brown, Kathy "Acquisitions Intern Hired" The NCSU Libraries' Acquisitions Department, which orders and receives materials for the Libraries' collection, will be automating its operations during the coming months. The software will be integrated with the Libraries' new information system so that online catalog users will be able to determine if an item has been ordered for the collection or if journal issues have been received. Acquisitions has hired David Goble as an intern to help with planning, developing, and implementing this major automation project. Goble, who has held progressively responsible positions in banking industry projects involving the effective use of new technologies and realignment of personnel, is entering his final semester at the School of Information and Library Science at UNC-Chapel Hill. The internship, which runs from January 1 through June 30, 1994, allows the Libraries to develop innovative uses of its funds that benefit the entire University community while offering excellent work experience for the intern.
