"BIS Service Interrupted by Power Problems"


The D. H. Hill Library building experienced major electrical 
problems that brought the BIS online catalog and circulation 
system down late on Friday, September 11, and again late 
Monday, September 14.  Two shifts from the Physical Plant 
worked round the clock to isolate the cause of the problems.  
This is the first major downtime to affect BIS in its five-year 
history at NCSU; the new online system will contain built-in 
back-ups for emergencies.  The Libraries apologizes for any 
inconvenience to its users.
