"Earth Buddy Bowl II"


For the second consecutive year, WRDU-106 FM, Harris 
Wholesale of Raleigh, and Harris, Inc., of Chapel Hill are 
staging the Earth Buddy Bowl II aluminum-recycling 
competition between the student bodies of NCSU and UNC-
Chapel Hill.  The school collecting the most aluminum cans 
will receive a $1,000 donation plus proceeds from the sale of 
the recycled aluminum for its library fund and a free concert 
by a popular Triangle band.

Continuing through September 24, a special aluminum-
recycling trailer has been set up at the Mission Valley 
Shopping Center in Raleigh where students, faculty, alumni, 
and Raleigh residents can recycle their aluminum cans in 
support of this project.  Aluminum cans placed in NCSU 
recycling bins also will be transferred to the trailer at 
Mission Valley by Physical Plant employees.  On September 25 
all of the collected aluminum will be weighed, and the school 
collecting the most will be announced during the State-
Carolina football game on September 26.

Last year the NCSU recycling effort achieved an impressive 
victory over Carolina.  The sponsors are expecting a much 
closer competition this year, so please help spread the word to 
students and neighbors and remember to recycle aluminum 
cans for the Earth Buddy II contest.
