"APS Reception and Introductory Workshops"


On December 16, 1991, the Documents Department hosted a 
reception and open house to introduce the patent law 
community to the Automated Patent System (APS) pilot 
project.  Those attending heard an introduction given by Jean 
Porter, head of Documents, on the APS and other patent and 
trademark information and services available through the NCSU 
Libraries.  After the talk, attendees observed a demonstration 
of APS capabilities and CASSIS CD-ROM and received 
information on the location of other useful patent and 
trademark information.  Porter also announced upcoming 
introductory workshops on patent classification and the APS 
being offered once each month from January through April 
1992.

The introductory training workshops sponsored by the 
Documents Department will be held in the ITTC on the dates 
listed below.

INTRODUCTORY CLASSIFICATION, January 15, February 12, 
March 11, and April 8, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

INTRODUCTION TO APS, January 29, February 26, March 25, and 
April 22, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
