"Association of Retired Faculty Reading Room Opens"


After several months of planning and development, the 
Association of Retired Faculty Reading Room is now ready for 
use.  Located at the ninth-floor elevator landing in the new 
addition, the reading room is equipped with lounge-type 
seating and a small conference table.  It is available for use by 
any NCSU retired faculty or staff member desiring a quiet and 
comfortable place in which to study for brief periods of time.  
The room will be kept locked at all times; keys are available at 
the main circulation desk.  Any retired faculty or staff member 
currently registered in the circulation database may check out 
a key to the room for a period of four hours.

Over the past two years the Association of Retired Faculty has 
spearheaded a significant fund-raising effort on behalf of the 
NCSU Libraries.  They have collected over $18,000 in 
endowment for library collections and programs.  The library 
is pleased to be able to offer this reading room in honor of 
these individuals, who have proved so dedicated in their 
support.
