Porter, 'Documents Service Desk Enjoys New Location', NCSU Libraries Newsletter v1995n00 (Porter Jean) _The NCSU Libraries Newsletter_ Volume 22 no. 8 March 1995 Porter, Jean "Documents Service Desk Enjoys New Location" If you are not a regular documents or microforms customer, you are probably not aware of recent changes in the arrangement of the entire Documents Department's reference area. With the shift of our stack collection to the old and new bookstack towers, a small space opened up allowing rearrangement of the documents reference collection. The current plan, designed by documents librarian Jack McGeachy, provides the table space necessary to use documents reference materials such as patents, statutes, U.S. Code, Code of Federal Regulations, and the U.S. Census volumes. Often, multiple volumes must be used together, which makes this arrangement very beneficial. One new feature is a book return that allows users to return materials directly to the department even after service hours. The new desk location is more visible to users and more conveniently located for assistance with the numerous databases on CD-ROM workstations nearby. Comments from users regarding these changes have been positive.
