The FOL's 1995 North Carolina Writers Series concludes on 
June 6 with a presentation by Kaye Gibbons, the FOL's Author-
in-Residence.  Gibbons will discuss aspects of her latest novel 
in which she writes--through the eyes of a child--about the 
throes of a mother's manic depression.  The lecture, held at the 
Faculty Club, starts at 7:30 P.M.  It is followed by a wine-and-
dessert reception and autographing session with the guest 
speaker.  Tickets are $9 for the general public and $5 for FOL 
members and NCSU students. For more information, please call
