International Trademark Information on Compact Disc

The NCSU Libraries' Documents Department is testing a compact disc 
from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) that 
contains images and text for international trademarks.  The disc 
includes approximately 282,000 international registrations 
presently valid in WIPO's register.  The disc is current as of May 
1993.  Please stop by and check it out.  The disc will be available 
until the end of the year.


Foreign Broadcast Information Service Index

The Documents Department is also reviewing a compact disc that 
indexes the foreign news items available through the Foreign 
Broadcast Information Service.  The disc indexes information from 
1983 through June 1993.  Once a citation has been identified, the 
article can be read on microfiche in the Microforms Reading Room.  
The news items come from countries around the world and are 
translated into English.  This information can be useful to political 
science students, history students, and international business 
students.  The department will be evaluating the disc until 
December 1, 1993.
