"Freshmen Donate Money"


During freshman orientation this August, approximately 1,600 
students contributed funds in support of the NCSU Libraries.  
Students were informed about the library's financial 
difficulties and asked to donate their "loose change." Michael 
Buck, head orientation counselor, initiated the request along 
with Mick Borden, assistant director of Student Affairs.  The 
orientation staff set a $500 goal, and incoming freshmen 
cheerfully raised more than $446.  The library is delighted 
with the initiative and support shown by the students and the 
orientation and student affairs staff.
