Gilreath, 'Faculty Reciprocal Borrowing Program Expanded', NCSU Libraries Newsletter v18n06 (September 1991) _The NCSU Libraries Newsletter_ Volume 18 no. 6 September 1991 Gilreath, Charles L. "Faculty Reciprocal Borrowing Program Expanded" The Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Privileges program has recently been expanded to include over 150 academic and research libraries in the United States and Canada. From their home libraries, faculty members obtain identification cards that speed the process of obtaining library privileges at participating institutions. The program started about five years ago among ARL member institutions that use the OCLC information network for cataloging and interlibrary loan operations. This year an invitation to participate in the program was extended to non-ARL libraries and, as a result of their response, the program has more than doubled in size. This program should be especially helpful to faculty members who are going to be on leave and anticipate needing access to a research library while they are away. Specific library privileges extended to visiting faculty may vary from institution to institution. Faculty who are interested in learning more about this program should inquire at the main circulation desk in the D. H. Hill Library, ext. 5-3364.
