McGeachy, 'Documents Department Shift Completed', NCSU Libraries Newsletter v18n05 (August 1991) _The NCSU Libraries Newsletter_ Volume 18 no. 5 August 1991 McGeachy, Jack "Documents Department Shift Completed" During the nine months following the opening of the D. H. Hill's bookstack tower addition, less visible changes occurred on the second floor of the East Wing, in the Documents Department. The documents collection is now split between the East Wing stack area and the new south tower. Documents classified A-J are in the east wing; L-Y publications and the Serial Set are housed on the second floor of the south tower. Although the Documents Reference area has been rearranged and consolidated, an absence of electrical and telephone lines has prevented the opening of a new reference desk located between the two stack halves. Some older reference titles have been shifted into the documents stacks. The maps collection has a bit more space and map cases, and the folio documents are shelved near the maps at the eastern end of the East Wing. Reader stations and microfilm and microfiche cabinets in the Microforms Room have been shifted to allow room for growth in that collection.
