Friends of the Library: Margaret Coles Joins FOL Staff

Margaret Coles joined the Friends of the Library office in the summer of 2006 after serving as a library assistant in the NCSU Libraries' Collection Management Department for two years. A graduate of Brigham Young University (BYU) with a bachelor's degree in history and minors in Spanish and teaching English to speakers of other languages, Coles spent several months in Paraguay and the Dominican Republic as a volunteer worker and student, respectively. As an undergraduate, she also worked as a faculty delivery service supervisor at BYU's Harold B. Lee Library.

In her free time, Coles volunteers with her church and enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband, a doctoral student in NC State's Department of Crop Science. Her library experience and vocation for public service are proving helpful in her new role as administrative assistant for the Friends of the Library.
