Volume 26 number 1 - Fall 2005

New Naming Opportunities

By Anna Dahlstein, External Relations

In conjunction with the 2005–2006 renovation project in the East Wing of the D. H. Hill Library, the NCSU Libraries is offering a range of special naming opportunities. These named sponsorships will provide aesthetically appealing and durable finishes in the new public spaces, such as American black cherry millwork and slate and hardwood floors. Gifts entitle the donors to permanent named recognition in a renovated area for themselves or in memory or honor of a loved one.

Several handsome pieces of quality black cherry furniture have been added to the list of naming opportunities in recent weeks. Each will be displayed prominently in the new reading room, exhibition gallery, or learning commons. The learning commons, which has not yet been reserved and named, will offer students and faculty the latest digital technology as well as comfortable and flexible seating in a highly visible and accessible area of the library.

Large Atlas Stand (2): $7,500 each

Tall Computer Stand (2): $4,000 each

Dictionary Stand: $4,000

Lectern Desk/Podium: $3,500

A complete list of naming opportunities is available at: http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/renovation/namingOp/. For further information about these options, please call Director of Library Development Jim Mulvey at (919) 515-3339 or send an electronic-mail message to jim_mulvey@ncsu.edu. You may also use the online inquiry form or naming opportunity pledge form.
