NCSU Librarian Wins Diversity Leadership Award
North Carolina State librarian Tamika Barnes McCollough of the Research and
Information Services Department has won the Special Libraries Association's
(SLA) Diversity Leadership Award. This award helps to accelerate the advancement
and visibility of members who represent a diverse population of the association
by mentoring them for more leadership opportunities within SLA. McCollough
will receive a $1,000 stipend to pay for training and travel expenses, as well
as complimentary registration for the SLA conference and relevant events.
The SLA is a nonprofit global organization for information professionals and
their strategic partners. It serves more than 12,000 members from eighty-three
countries in the information profession, including corporate, academic, and
government information specialists.
