April 10: Daniel Wallace, Author of Ray In Reverse

What would it be like to be in heaven and receive the opportunity to look back at your life in reverse order? Daniel Wallace explores the notion in his second novel, Ray In Reverse. Wallace, a resident of Chapel Hill, has received a North Carolina Arts Fellowship and a PEN Syndicated Fiction Award. His first novel was Big Fish.

May 1: Marcia Douglas, "Writing the Caribbean"

Come and listen to the lyrical voice of Marcia Douglas as she mesmerizes listeners with readings from her books Madam Fate and Electricity Comes to Cocoa Bottom. Douglas, a native of Jamaica, will also discuss the history and culture of the Caribbean, as well as her development there as a woman and writer. She is an associate professor of creative writing with the Department of English at NC State.
