Friends of the Library News: Spring Dinner Speaker Set

Tony Earley, author of the critically acclaimed Jim the Boy, will
speak at the Friends' Spring Dinner on April 27, 2001. Earley's short stories
earned him a place on Granata's list of the 20 Best Young American
Fiction Writers in 1996 and a National Magazine Award for fiction. He has been
included in the anthologies Best American Short Stories and New
Stories from the South. In 1994 a collection of his short stories, Here
We Are in Paradise, was published. A new book of short stories will be
published by Algonquin Press in spring 2001.
