Navigation Charts
NCSU Libraries currently receives both U.S. and international nautical and navigation charts. These charts are collected for reference and research purposes and are not meant to be used for navigation.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
The maps collection has complete coverage for U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coast
nautical charts, small craft charts and intracoastal waterway charts.
You may also find online charts or maps at the NOAA
Office of Coast Survey.
Access and Location: Satellite Shelving Facility holds
NOAA charts and maps. Index sheets for all maps are in the first drawer
at the beginning of the collection.
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) / DMA / NIMA
In the maps collection you will find the latest editions
of international nautical and aeronautical charts that have been distributed
to depository libraries--sometimes, but not always, these are the most
recent editions available. These maps have been supplied by the Defense
Mapping Agency, the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, and the National
Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.
Access and Location: Satellite Shelving Facility
has a section for NGA/DMA/NIMA charts and maps. Index sheets for these
maps are in the first drawer at the beginning of each collection.
