National Forests and Parks
Topographic maps
Detailed topographic maps of National Forests, National Parks and some
National Monuments are listed in the library catalog, and are shelved
in the sudoc classification section of the maps collection.
Trail maps
Because the NCSU Libraries is a federal government depository, we also
receive promotional brochures distributed to libraries by the federal
government. These brochures frequently contain site maps, trail maps or
other simple maps. Only the most recent copy of these brochures are retained.
Search the library catalog by the name of the park or forest to determine
the call number by which the brochure is filed or shelved, and to determine
the location (either in the U.S. Documents Pamphlet File or with the U.S.
Documents, both on the 2nd floor of D. H. Hill). Many of these brochures
are also available online at the web sites for the National
Park Service or the Forest Service.
