Bostian Hall, built in 1979, is attached to the east side of Gardner Hall. It is named after Carey Hoyt Bostian, a member of the zoology faculty from 1930 to 1973. After serving as director of instruction in the School of Agriculture, he was appointed successor to John William Harrelson (Harrelson Hall) as chancellor in 1953 with the understanding that he could step down within a few years. He returned to teaching in 1959 and was succeeded by John Caldwell (Caldwell Hall).
