Built as a dormitory in 1939 and renovated in 1981 and 2002, Clark Hall was the home of the university's Student Health Service until 1992. It is named after Walter Clark, Jr., son of Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court Walter Clark and brother of David Clark (David Clark Labs). In 1903, at the age of 18, Clark became State's youngest graduate. He submitted the first perfect paper for the North Carolina bar exam and served in the State Senate and as city attorney for Charlotte.
