The area originally known as the Quad is now called Honors Village and consists of the Honors Village Commons Building (2005) and three residence halls: Bagwell (1924) and Becton (1939)--both named after presidents of the Alumni Association--and Berry (1939), named after Leslie Graham Berry, a renowned civil engineer who was one of the first supporters of a memorial for students killed in World War I. He suggested a building, but proponents of a monument (Bell Tower) prevailed.
