William Ferris

Mr. Ferris is formerly the chairman for the National Endowment for the Humanities.  He is the recipient of the Charles Frankel Prize in the Humanities, the American Libraries Association’s Dartmouth Medal, the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Lifetime Achievement Award, and the W.C. Handy Blues Award.  His most recent book The Storied South: Voices of Writers and Artists was published by UNC Press in 2013.
