Poetry Out LoudHigh school student poets from around North Carolina will perform poems and spoken word pieces. This program will be moderated by poet Michael Beadle, who has been an emcee with the Poetry Out Loud program for the past three years and has been a poet-in-residence touring and teaching around the state since 2005.  Poetry Out Loud, a program of the N.C. Arts Council, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the Poetry Foundation and the Greensboro Public Library, invites N.C. students to participate in the program to gain a deeper appreciation of great poetry through memorization and recitation.

The Poetry Out Loud program starts in the classroom, broadens to the state level and culminates at the national finals in Washington, D.C.
