Megan Mayhew Bergman was raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She now lives on a small farm in Shaftsbury, Vermont with her veterinarian husband Bo, two daughters, five dogs, four cats, two goats, a mule, and a handful of chickens. Her first book, Birds of a Lesser Paradise, was an Amazon Top Ten pick. Her new collection, The Imagined Lives of Almost Famous Women, will come out with Scribner in January 2015, followed shortly by her novel, Rebel Rebel. She writes a regular sustainability column for Salon.
