Debbie Moose of Raleigh is a former food editor for The News & Observer and writes two monthly columns for the newspaper: “Sunday Dinner” and “The Tasteful Garden,” which she co-authors with garden writer Carol Stein. Her work has appeared in Edible Piedmont, Our State, the Dallas Morning News and other publications. She has written five cookbooks, the latest of which is “Buttermilk: A Savor the South Cookbook.” Her sixth cookbook “Southern Holidays: A Savor the South Cookbook” will be published by UNC Press this September. A native North Carolinian, she is a member of the Association of Food Journalists and the Southern Foodways Alliance, and has served as a judge in the James Beard Awards.
