NCSU Libraries Learning Commons

The library supports a wide range of individual and group study needs. Key group study features include:

Group Study Rooms

• Wall-mounted 43" Viewsonic LCD screens with speakers
• Large work table with central VGA plugins for sharing the screen
• Movable whiteboards
• There are two Group Study Rooms in the Learning Commons and seven in the South Tower Bookstacks on floors 2 through 8
  (2nd floor room does not have a wall-mounted LCD or whiteboard)
• Group Study Rooms are reservable online for 2-hour blocks
• Due to high demand, groups are limited to one reservation per room per day

Presentation Practice Room

• LCD Overhead projector
• 14 foot mounted dry-erase board
• Polyvision Walk-and-Talk interactive whiteboard
• Reconfigurable tables to seat 14
• Optional podium
• Smart Glass exterior wall that can be made clear or opaque, based on the presenter's preference
• Presentation Practice Room is reservable online for a 2-hour block
• Due to high demand, groups are limited to one reservation per day

Workstation Clusters

• 22 clusters accommodating a total of 107 workstations
• Workstation table tops provide ample room for small groups
• Electrical outlets are available at many clusters for powering laptops and tablets

          

Soft Seating Areas

• Large, rolling dry-erase boards
• Moveable chairs and tables, some tables offering integrated AC power cord
