Rhetoric and Composition
Rhetoric and Composition is a lively and growing area of English
Studies, contributing research and critical understanding about the
teaching and learning of writing, the relationship between writing
and knowing, the changing nature of "writing" in the digital media,
the history of rhetoric and its pedagogy, the role of writing in
multiple cultures and communities, and the role of writing and other
symbolic forms in academic disciplines, business and industry,
popular culture, and many other realms of life.
This research guide is intended to introduce students in the M.A.
program in English to this area within English Studies and to provide
access to the major research tools.
