* Returns for Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey and Tennessee were destroyed when the Capitol building was burned in 1812.
* Provides the numbers of persons in each household characterized by the questions found in Return of the Whole Number of Persons.
* The North Carolina Heads of Families volume is the only Census product in the NCSU Libraries that contains individual family names.
* Surnames are not in alphabetical order in the tables, but an index is provided for each volume.
