Administrative Rules and
Regulations
The General Assembly often passes laws which require an organization to
carry out programs and create guidelines (called rules or regulations) for
compliance with and enforcement of enacted laws. Administrative agencies
execute those functions. Some representative North Carolina administrative
agencies are the Department of Revenue, Department of Crime Control
and Public Safety, and Department of Transportation.
