How does the NC State University eBook reader lending program work?

The NC State University Libraries offers Amazon Kindle e-readers for check out to NC Student University students, faculty, and staff. Each device has access to around 500 titles, but most Amazon titles (not including academic textbooks) costing less than $50 can also be purchased upon request. The Kindle loan period is two weeks with one renewal for an additional two.  Overdue fees are charged at a rate of $10.00 per day.  Kindles are currently available for pickup only at D. H. Hill, Jr., Hunt, Natural Resources, and Veterinary Medicine Libraries.

Amazon Kindle User-Selected Collection

User selected popular books are available on multiple Amazon Kindle readers. Go to the eBook reader lending web page and click on the "Request" button. NC State University users must authenticate using their Unity ID. Select "Amazon Kindle" device. From that point, you may enter the title you'd like to request. The NC State University Libraries will send you an email when your Kindle is ready to pick up for a two week loan. It will contain the title(s) you selected, and it will have cloud access to all ~500 other titles on its pod whenever you have WiFi access.
