GIS Lookup: Detailed Data Layer Listing

Data Layer GraphicTitle: "Discharger Coalitions Monitoring Sites" (2000)

Description: The North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Water Quality, in cooperation with the NC Center for Geographic Information and Analysis, developed the digital GIS Discharger Coalitions' Monitoring Sites data to help analyze the impact on water quality of the discharges of the coalition's members. This data contains sites from multiple coalitions that are monitored by the Division of Water Quality (DWQ). Each coalition contains multiple members for which they routinely collect water samples. Each member of a coalition is a permitted National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System discharger. This data identifies the point locations of the sample sites. This data was created to assist governmental agencies and others in making resource management decisions through use of a Geographic Information System.
