Overview
The North Carolina Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources produces a substantial amount of GIS and imagery data. There are several units involved with GIS data and digital imagery creation including, in the GIS Unit, the NC Geologic Survey, the Division of Water Resources, the Division of Waste Management, the Division of Coastal Management, the Division of Water Quality, and others.
Note: Most available DENR data layers are available as part of the NCCGIA Corporate Geographic Database, available via the Libraries data server, and are not listed separately on this page. Following is a listing of some of these additional data and map server resources available from DENR units.
Groundwater Section Data
Some rainfall and recharge information is available from the NC Groundwater Section. This data no longer appears to be downloadable, but is archived on the Libraries data server. Data includes:
