DCW Utilities Directory

The utilities directory is delivered with the DCW data when shipped by ESRI. It contains various data that can be useful in interpreting the DCW data sets. The most useful of these data sets (e.g., tilref, libref, ponet) have been integrated into the sample ArcView project. These are useful for finding which tiles you want. The file names of these coverages within the utilities directory are given inside parenthesis.

The following utility layers are available, see the DCW documentation for further information:

• Tile name reference layer(utility/tilref)
• Generalized coastline reference layer(utility/libref)
• Generalized political and oceans features layer(utility/browse/ponet)
• Generalized populated places layer(utility/browse/pppoint)
• Gazetter layer
• ONC Compilation date (utility/browse/copoly)
• ONC index layer (utility/browse/inpoly)
• Hypsographic data availability (utility/browse/dapoly)
• Drainage system layer (utility/browse/dnnet)
• Data volume layer (utility/browse/dvpoly)
