Overview

BusinessMAP 4 is a standalone GIS software product released by ESRI for business mapping and decision applications. Moreover, it provides an easy interface for basic GIS data viewing and mapping, even for non-business related uses.

According to ESRI, "BusinessMAP lends itself to a variety of marketing and sales applications. Use BusinessMAP for territory design, demographic analysis, customer prospecting, route planning, and more. The following [are] various applications of BusinessMAP to solve critical business problems and return valuable insight about your business.

Included Data

According to ESRI's BusinessMAP 4 website, data included in this application are:

• Tele Atlas Dynamap®/Transportation-enhanced streets for the United States and Canada
• Over 18 million businesses from Dun & Bradstreet
• State, county, ZIP Code, and census tract boundaries
• ZIP Code center points and boundaries
• More than 35,000 cities
• Highways and waterways
• Congressional district boundaries
• U.S. census data by state, county, ZIP Code, and census tract with estimates and projections from ESRI
• Major U.S. commercial airports
• Shaded color relief maps for the USA and individual states
• Detailed user guide with sample applications
• Sample map book
• Video demonstrations

Mulitple format file import/export is provided, although note that you will not be able to export Dun & Bradstreet Business Listings because NCSU Libraries has not purchased credits for this.

Library Access

BusinessMAP 4 is installed on the GIS workstations in DH Hill Library. A DVD is required to run the application, and must be requested from Data Services.
