Our majors benefit from the proximity of the NCSU campus to the state general assembly, executive offices, government agencies, party headquarters, political consulting firms, political and public policy think tanks, and advocacy organizations. They develop skills in problem-solving, analytical thinking, oral and written communication, statistical analysis, and computer usage - skills essential to success both today and in the future. Public Administration NCSU's Public Administration Program was the first public administration program in North Carolina to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. It is also the first program in North Carolina to offer the doctoral degree in public administration. Our students may choose to specialize in administration of justice, association/non-profit management, environmental policy and management, financial management, human resource management, information resources management, or urban/local government management.
