This handwritten list of recipes and formulas was apparently compiled in the first half of the nineteenth century.

 Scope and Content

This manuscript receipt book contains approximately ninety recipes and formulas on bleaching and dyeing cloths and other materials. Each recipe is titled, and begins with a list of required ingredients and their quantities, and concludes with a brief description of the procedure involved. It is thought to date from the first half of the eighteenth century.
