The booklet of specifications contains standard American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.) forms describing the general conditions for a contract for construction of a building, followed by a carbon copy of a typescript listing the exceptions to those conditions and the special conditions of the particular contract for construction of the Taylors' house, including the materials to be used and the work to be performed.

The portfolio contains lists of industrial, educational, medical, and general clients, and pictures of some buildings. Most of the buildings pictured were built in the late 1960s. Nearly all of them are in North Carolina and a few are in Massachusetts. The I. M. Taylor residence in Chapel Hill is one of those pictured.
