The pamphlet also includes conclusions from Case's master thesis, An Analysis of the Effects of Various Factors on Accuracy of Shooting Free Throws in Basketball. Everett N. Case (1900-1966) was the head basketball coach at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later North Carolina State University) from 1946 to 1964. During these 18 years, his teams won 379 games, including ten conference championships. In 1949, Case founded the Dixie Classic Tournament. He received his B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Wisconsin (1923) and his Master's degree from the University of Southern California (1934). Case was also a highly successful high school basketball coach in his native Indiana. He was a coach and athletic director in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946, discharged with the rank of Commander.
