The papers contain Joseph Deadrick Clark's manuscripts including "Commonly Misspelled Words," "Cures, and Cures for the Senior Citizen," "Limericks: Sense and Nonsense," "North Carolina State College, Whither," and "Celebration of the Ramp."

<head>Biographical Note</head>

<p>Joseph Deadrick Clark (1893-1985) received his A.B. degree from Columbia University and his M.A. degree at Harvard University.  He served as a professor of English at North Carolina State College from 1923 to 1961, and as head of the English Department from 1929 to 1934. Clark also served on the Raleigh Board of Education for ten years.</p>
