Holtzman for a one-age ad in the Raleigh <title render="italic">News and Observer</title> expressing sorrow at the murder of Martin Luther King Jr. and hope that his ideals would be accepted; a copy of the ad; lists of contributors; a letter about disposition of funds remaining after publication of memorial statement in <title render="italic">News and Observer</title> and the <title render="italic">Carolinian</title>; letters sending surplus funds to the Southern Christian Leadership Conference; a letter of acknowledgement from Ralph David Abernathy, president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference; and a few related items.</abstract>
<abstract encodinganalog="545">William J. Block was a member of the faculty of North Carolina State University in Political Science and Public Administration. He was chair of the university's Faculty Senate in 1964-1965. Abraham Holtzman was also a faculty member in Political Science and was chair of the Faculty Senate in 1962.</abstract>
