<head>Scope and Content Note</head>
<p>A sophisticated album or workbook of <subject>textile </subject>  <subject>weaving </subject>  <subject>patterns</subject> and resulting <subject>fabric samples</subject> kept in 1902-1904 by <persname>Franz H&#x00FC;ttner</persname>. A handwritten introduction, including H&#x00FC;ttner's signature, is followed by 43 sheets with 273 mounted and precisely drawn <subject>patterns</subject> in red and black on intricate grids, and 45 mounted fabric samples produced following the patterns. Facing each plate is handwritten German text, providing a description of the patterns. A pencil sketch of a weaving machine is also included in the back cover. The album itself was produced in <geogname>Vienna</geogname>.</p>
