<abstract label="Abstract" encodinganalog="520$a">Edward Scull King (1887-1962) worked at North Carolina State College as Secretary of the YMCA from 1919 until his retirement in 1955. The "Y" was the center of campus social and religious activities during King's years as secretary. The Edward Scull King Papers relate to King's work with the Young Men's Christian Association, and includes correspondence, certificates and honors, photographs, and North Carolina State College memorabilia.

<head>Biographical Note</head>

<p>Edward Scull King (1887-1962) was an alumnus of Guilford College. After graduating, he worked in the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) at the University of South Carolina (1914-1917) and Vanderbilt University. He came to North Carolina State College in 1919 as Secretary of the YMCA and served until his retirement in 1955. The "Y" was the center of campus social and religious activities during King's years as secretary.</p>
