Biographical Note

William Howard Beezley was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on 1942 March 22. He received a B.A. from Chicago Teachers College (later Chicago State University) in 1964, and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska in 1966 and 1969. Beezley was a member of the faculty in the history department at North Carolina State University from 1972 to 1991.

Scope and Content Note

The William H. Beezley Typescript consists of a 391-page manuscript entitled The Wolfpack: Intercollegiate Athletics at North Carolina State University, 1975. Beezley's work, published under the same title by N.C. State in 1976, traces the history of football, basketball, and other sports at the university from 1892 to 1975.
