Beezley's work, published under the same title by N.C. State in 1976, traces the history of football, basketball, and other sports at the university from 1892 to 1975.</abstract>
<abstract encodinganalog="545">William H. Beezley was born on 1942 March 22. He received a B.A. from Chicago Teachers College (later Chicago State University), and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. Beezley was a faculty member in the history department at North Carolina State University from 1972 to 1991.</abstract>
