<head>Scope and Content Note</head>

<p>This 189-page book, probably detailing accounts of home sales in what is now Italy by an unidentified man or company, is handwritten in Latin. The first entry is dated 1515 and the last is dated 1520; however, the dates 1515-1528 are handwritten on the inside front cover. As as further indication of the dates, the name of Leo X, the pope from 1513 to 1521, is written at the top of each entry. The book is bound in vellum and at the time it was used was held closed with four ties made of an unknown textile material. These ties are still attached to the volume.</p></scopecontent></scopecontent>
