UA 135.002 Guide to the North Carolina State University, College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Annual Reports, 1941-2003

Materials are arragned alphabetically by name of department, and chronologically therein. Several units have undergone name changes throughout their history; researchers should be advised that the arrangement of thise collection does not group together all records from a given unit through that unit's name change progression. Please see each unit's related collection guide for the history of unit name changes within the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

Scope and Content Note

This subgroup contains annual reports for various departments and units reporting to the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) at North Carolina State University. Included in this subgroup are annual reports from departments which were once part of PAMS, but have since been relocated to other colleges; annual reports for those departments after their relocation are filed with the annual reports of their new colleges. Materials range in date from 1941 to 2003.

Historical Note

The College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) was established at North Carolina State University in 1960 as the School of Physical Science and Applied Mathematics. In 1977, the unit was renamed the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, becoming "College of" in 1987. In 2013 the College of Physical and Mathematical was superceded by the College of Sciences.
