Koonts and Hermann J. Trojanowski; machine-readable finding aid created by: Katherine M. Wisser Scope and Content NoteThese records span the years 1948 to 1986 and contain "Biographical Information Reports" from the College, departmental reports, "School and Curriculum Information Reports" from the College, "Questionnaire for Review of Engineering Programs" reports, and photographs relating to the accreditation process for the College of Engineering and its departments. These records were prepared by the College Engineering and its departments as part of the accreditation process and submitted to the Engineering Council for Professional Development (ECPD) and its successor organization, The Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (ABET). Historical NoteThe Engineer's Council for Professional Development (ECPD) was founded in 1932 to promote the professional growth of future engineers from pre-college counseling through college and initial employment to full status members of the engineering porfession. One of the council's major functions was to accredit engineering curricula at colleges and universities throughout the United States. In 1980, the ECPD was reorganized as The Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which is part of the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES).
