The North Carolina State University Humanities and Social Sciences Council (originally the Liberal Arts Council, changing its name when the college changed theirs in 1977) was established in or before 1966 to act as a representative student organization for the various departments in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Each department is represented by at least two students on the Council. The Humanities and Social Sciences Council remains active as of 2008.
The records of the North Carolina State University Humanities and Social Sciences Council (formerly the Liberal Arts Council) contain their constitution, financial information, meeting minutes, membership rosters, correspondence, publications, and other general information about the organization and its activities.
